Beginner/Continuing Spinning Approximately 5 hours. The fee is $100 and includes supplies. Bring your own wheel if you have one or use one of ours. In this workshop, you will be taught the very basics of spinning yarn using a spinning wheel.
Beginner Knitting We’ll start with a cotton coaster. Something that can be finished in a short time period, that covers the basics and that will inspire you to bigger and more luxurious projects. $35 includes supplies and instruction.
Beyond Beginner Knitting So, you can already knit, maybe even purl, and you are ready to move on? In this class, you will learn how to read a knitting pattern, how to read your knitting, how to fix a mistake, pick up a dropped stitch, increase, decrease and some basic stitch variations. Bring your own yarn and needles and notions. We will spend about 2 hours. The fee is $35 per person.
Slipper Sock Knitting Using a set of double pointed needles, we will go through the mechanics of turning heels. It is not as intimidating as you think. Yarn and pattern are included to make one pair of slipper socks. Student should bring a set of 4 6.0 mm double point needles Fee is $65.00

Mittens You will receive instruction on knitting a basic pair of mittens, incorporating all of Cathy’s best techniques using a set of double point needles. Yarn, pattern and instruction cost is $65. Student should bring one pair each of 3.5 mm and 4.0 mm dpns, place markers, stitch holders, bodkin.

Exploring Cables Cables add texture and interest to any piece. You will be taught to read charts and patterns for basic cable stitches. Students should bring needles and yarn and a cable needle. $30.
Thrummed Mitten Knitting Approximately 3 hours. You will be taught the thrum knitting technique and provided with the materials to complete one pair of thrum mittens. A basic ability to knit is required for this class. Experience knitting on a set of 3 double point needles is a prerequisite. The fee is $75.

Knitting Lessons As an option to a structured class Cathy will help you with your project or challenge. Whether you are having trouble with a new stitch or technique, need help reading the pattern, cast on methods, knitting in the round, using double point needles, or any other issue. $20/hour.
Rainbow Pot Dyeing approximately 2 hours. $45 includes instruction, one skein of yarn and all of the supplies to dye yarn multiple colours at the same time.

Fusion Felting Also known as nuno felting, this is a very simple technique with no stitches to learn or previous experience necessary. You will complete a scarf for yourself during this 2 ½ hour workshop. The fee is $55 and includes instruction and materials.

Needle Felted Hat Approximately 5 hours. $65 includes materials and instruction to create a hat from rovings to wearable. Comfy, warm, and stylish, with no stitches to learn or experience needed.

Needle Felted Painting 2 – 3 hours -create “painting” using coloured rovings and needle felting. The student is welcome to provide their own subject or use one of our. $45 for the beginner class, includes a colour pack of fibre, backing and 2 felting needles.
Introductory Weaving Weave a scarf on a Rigid Heddle Loom. 4 – 5 hours is needed for this class where you will warp a loom and weave a scarf. Materials and instruction are included in the $85 fee. No weaving experience is necessary.
We also have gift certificates available for the workshops.
